St. Mary has adopted a spelling program that differs from a customary spelling program in which each unit opens with a word list followed by activities to prepare students for the Friday Test. The goal in the old program was to learn the words for the test. After the test, the words vanished from the minds of the students. |

Liturgy, Prayer & Sacraments |

St. Mary School meets state regulations requirements as designated in the Kentucky Program of Studies. Our school follows the Curriculum Guidelines of the Department of Catholic Education. Recognizing that faith is passed on and nourished in community, the community of the family and the community of school, St. Mary School strives to offer experiences of faith through opportunities for liturgy, prayer, and Sacraments. The entire student body participates in Mass. |

Children with exceptional needs requiring special placement services will be included in the educational programs of a school, if their needs can be adequately met with reasonable accommodations. St. Mary School provides reasonable adjustments to the curriculum. Once a student’s needs are professionally assessed, a Modified curriculum Plan may be written and presented to the child’s parents. If accepted, the plan then is documented in the child’s file and is reviewed quarterly. Action to develop such a plan may be initiated by either the parent or the teacher. |
