St. Mary Parish is a Vibrant Catholic Community,
Guided by the Holy Spirit and Centered on the Eucharist.
With the welcoming and accepting Heart of Jesus,
We Serve, We Evangelize, and We continue to Learn and Grow in our Faith.
Join us on Wednesday, October 2, at noon as Bishop John Iffert blesses and dedicates the PAC and classrooms. We're grateful to all who have supported this effort with their prayers and financial gifts. All are welcome to join us for this special celebration!
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our parish and surrounding community, we’ve not only reached but surpassed our Table of Plenty goal! We aimed for $50K, and you responded with a remarkable $79,383.50 in pledges, with $66,187.50 already received! And that’s not all—thanks to the special matching donor, an additional $50K will be added, bringing the total impact of the Table of Plenty to an astounding $129,383.50!
But the excitement doesn’t stop there! Our Cultivating Legacy Capital Campaign (CLCC) has also hit its ambitious $5.9M goal! With a total of $5,909,028.99 pledged, we’ve already collected $5,563,382.76. And once the $50K match from the Table of Plenty is added, we’ll be just $286,617.24 away from our full collection target.
We know that some parishioners who pledged in 2019 have faced tough times, and others have moved away, leading to about $150K in expected uncollected pledges. But here’s the amazing part—this accounts for only 2% of our $5.9M goal, which is an outstanding collection rate for any capital campaign (national Catholic campaign average is 10-12% uncollected)!
Now, we need your help to close the gap in order to finish Phase 3 - the renovation of the current gym into 3 new classrooms! To ensure we reach our full collection target, we invite those who are able to make an additional contribution. Every dollar helps us bridge the final $286,617.24 needed and continues to support the incredible work our parish is doing. Let’s come together once more to make this campaign a complete success!
Thank you for your unwavering support and generosity!
We share information with parishioners via our weekly bulletins (see link below), Facebook, and email. If you're a registered parishioner and are not receiving our parish emails, please contact the parish office at 859-635-4188 or email stmaryalex@fuse.net.
We have some good news to share with you about our Cultivating Legacy Capital Campaign. The parish has money on the table in the amount of $50,000.
What does that mean? It means that our campaign has received a matching grant, dollar for dollar, of up to $50,000. It means that pledges and contributions from the parish can result in $100,000 total for our campaign. It is money on the table, and we are using the title of a hymn, TABLE OF PLENTY, to give this effort a name.
We are asking that pledges and contributions be made beginning July 14 and continue through the first week of September. That timing matches with Friday, September 6, when Bishop Iffert visits St. Mary to dedicate and bless our new facility. Fulfillment of pledges can continue through the calendar year, with the objective of having the match of $50,000 from our gifts and the total of $100,000 in hand by December 31, 2024.
The key to our success in this effort is parish participation. Every contribution, large or small, combines to become the amount that the $50,000 is there to match. Fr. Joe and the campaign co-chairs (Brett Ruschman, Marty Schadler, Karen Zengel) recognize that many of you have been most generous to the campaign so far. We trust that the matching grant motivates everyone--all our parish family-- to give. With the rest of the year to contribute and to fulfill your pledge, we are confident that the Table of Plenty Challenge can be met.
We are dedicated to improving the lives of those

This ~3.5 minute video from 2019 shows a fly through of the new building being built now. Many things have changed since this video was made, but the overall idea is still showcased. The video starts with 2 projects we have already completed - adding new parking spaces and a church elevator.
