Adoration chapel
The adoration chapel exists to provide a sacred and prayerful environment for the worship of Jesus Christ truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. Make yourself comfortable and stay awhile!
Adoration capability was originally added to the chapel in November 2021. Through a parishioner donation, it was upgraded to be accessible 24/7, which debuted in August 2026.
The chapel is accessed via the front door to the parish office building. Prior to visiting, call the parish offices (859-635-4188) to obtain the access code.
Please note: there will be times when the chapel is already in use for other activities.
What is Eucharistic adoration?
Eucharistic Adoration is when a consecrated host is displayed in a monstrance and is made available to us. Since we as Catholics believe the consecrated host is the body of Jesus, we have the opportunity to spend intimate one-on-one time with Him.
Jesus is here for us to adore and be with Him.
When you arrive and depart
- Upon arrival, it's good to bow or genuflect before the Blessed Sacrament, if you are physically able, to acknowledge that you are in the presence of Jesus. If when you arrive, if no one else is already present, raise the folding curtain on the monstrance enclosure.
- As you leave the chapel, remember to say goodbye to Jesus with another bow or genuflection. If no one else is present, please lower the curtain to the wooden monstrance holder.
While in the chapel
- This is your personal time with Jesus, so you decide how you want to spend your time. You can sit in silence and just rest with Him. You can pray the rosary or journal.
- Talk to Jesus as you would a friend. Tell Him about your worries and give them to Him to handle. Ask Jesus to help when you have trouble with a decision.
- Take time to listen - He is always talking to us, but we don't often have our ears open to hear what He has to say.
- Celebrate your joyful moments with Jesus too! Don't forget to thank Him for all your blessings!
- There is a bookshelf to the right of the monstrance that is available to you. We hope you enjoy looking through the books as some are meant to be read while in the chapel and others can be taken home with you to read at your convenience.
- There is also a shelf just for children. We encourage little ones to come and see Jesus too and maybe a fun book might allow mom or dad to have a few free minutes to sit with Jesus.
Rules for Use
- Silence shall be maintained at all times inside the chapel; conversations should be taken outside.
- Appropriate clothing is required
- Cell phones and other electronic devices should be silenced
- Food, drink, gum, tobacco, vape and consumable products of any kind are prohibited.
- Photography and video recording are not permitted without prior approval by the parish
- Enter and exit quietly, closing the entrance doors.
- All minors must be accompanied at all times by a parent, guardian or Virtus trained adult
- Treat the chapel furnishings and materials with respect.
